The Mount Holly Cotton Mill is a part of the National Register of Historic Places and has been an integral part of Mount Holly’s history. Built in 1875, it remains the oldest surviving textile mill in Gaston County. Its reverence in the late nineteeth – and early-twentieth century spurred Gaston County’s success as the textile capital of the U.S.. Due to the successfulness of The Mount Holly Cotton Mill the town changed its name from Woodlawn to Mount Holly in 1879.

Mt. Holly, NC is conveniently located a short drive from Charlotte with 10+ attractions within a 15-mile radius. Located along the banks of the Catawba River, the area is blessed with miles of outdoor trails and plenty of southern charm.
