Can I use outside catering?
No, you cannot use outside catering when booking with Homesteads Events. However, we try to be very flexible and provide as many different food options as possible. If you have any questions or concerns about certain foods please let us know.
Can I bring in my own alcohol?
No, you cannot bring in your own alcohol. All alcohol must be provided through Homesteads. Please inquire if you would like to know what types of alcohol we serve.
Can I use other outside vendors?
Yes! Beyond catering and alcohol we do not have any restrictions on who you work with. If you need us to make recommendations we will gladly do so. Once you decide on vendors, please let us know so that we can also be in contact with them.
What is your decoration policy?
Our rules for decorating are: 1) no nailing/damage to the walls 2) all candles must be in a glass enclosure 3) no loose glitter. That's pretty much it!
Can I decorate the day before?
We cannot guarantee that there will not be another event going on the day before until we get closer to your date. If there is nothing booked we can allow you to arrive the day before and start decorating.
Can I do a rehearsal the day before?
Yes! You can come in and do a rehearsal the day before. If there is already an event booked for the day before we will set aside space for you in another similar room to do a rehearsal.
How long do I have the space?
The amount of time you have in the space depends on what type of rental you choose. An Upstairs All Inclusive Package allows for 8 hours, a Downstairs All Inclusive Package allows for 5 hours, and Venue Only Rental allows for 8 hours. Smaller events are usually allowed 6 hours. We are flexible with time though!
What is the process to book the venue?
First, book a tour with us to see the mill and make sure it is the right fit for you. If you love the mill (which we think you will!!) and want to book a date we will draft a contract for your event. Once the contract looks good you must sign it and bring it back to us with a 50% non-refundable deposit. Then your date is secure! All other payments must be completed 30 days prior to the event. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns about payments, catering, or contracts.
Can I do a smaller event that is not a wedding?
Of course! We do all types of events, not just weddings. Corporate dinners, luncheons, baby showers, birthday parties, and many more are possible at Loray Mill. If you are interested in doing an event besides a wedding please contact us for pricing and availability. Please note that the same rules for catering, alcohol, vendors, decorating, and payments apply for all events.
